Savory little hand pies filled with all the flavors of a taco! These taco hand pies are a perfect snack or meal for both kids and adults. They are easy to make and great for parties or family dinners.
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning mix
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1/2 cup diced bell pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/4 cup sliced black olives
- 2 refrigerated pie crusts
- 1 egg for egg wash
Instructions:
Turn on your oven and heat it up to 375F 190C
Put the ground beef in a pan and cook it over medium-low heat until it turns brown
Get rid of any extra fat
Dice the onions and bell peppers and add them to the pan with the cooked beef
Let them cook for a while until they get soft
Add the taco seasoning mix and season the beef mixture according to the directions on the package
Take the pan off the heat and let it cool down a bit
Take the pie crusts out of the fridge and use a round cutter to make circles that are about 4 inches across
Put some of the taco meat mixture on one half of each circle of pie crust
Diced tomatoes, black olives, and cheddar cheese should be put on top of the meat mixture
As you fill the pie, fold the other half of the crust over it to make a half-moon shape
To seal, press the edges together
To make an egg wash, beat the egg in a small bowl
Use the egg wash to give the tops of the hand pies a golden look
Put the hand pies on a baking sheet that has parchment paper on it
The hand pies should be baked in a hot oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy
Take them out of the oven and let them cool down a bit before you serve them
